Barrowcliff Forest School

10th July 2017

Rich has again been working with Reception and Nursery children from Barrowcliff School and getting them used to living the outdoor life. Sessions have been centered around arts, crafts and widening their horizons through exploration and using tools.

The children have also been making sounds and music and we used a combination of recyclable goods from home mixed them with scavenged materials and made rhythms, sounds and did some fantastic drumming.

Most fun was had making habitats for birds and seeing if the toy birds had laid eggs in their nests. We have also made dream catchers and picture frames and used tools and knots to shape the twigs we found on the floor.

We have also been on a Bear Hunt and following trails and looking for the smaller woodland mini beasts and plants that are essential to keep our woodland flora and fauna healthy.
