Signs of Spring in Raincliffe Woods

Raincliffe Woods, Celandine
17th March 2019

On a cold and bright spring morning in March a walk along the path from Raincliffe Gate car park brought Spring to life. With the woodland floor covered in brown leaf two splashes of colour stood out alongside the path.

First a Wood Anemone and just a few paces on a Celandine. In the next few weeks a walk in the woods will increasingly be a colourful one with a carpet of flowers peeking with the Bluebells before the leaves on the trees cut out the bright sunlight.

In Forge Valley alongside the Boardwalk the King Cups have just started to flower.
