The Forge in Forge Valley

We are really pleased to publish the latest paper from the Scarborough Archeology & History Society on their latest studies in and around the site of the old forge in Forge Valley. The collation of information from the many historical sources and the helpful interpretation of the images, plus their on the ground work over the last winter provides a very interesting and informative read.

The geology, geography, archeology and history are all influences on the woodland we see today. We are working with partners to make the features are more accessible both in physical terms and the interpretation of the surrounds.  SAHS Report 51 Forge Surveyo
